Our job is to ensure that society grows and improves so it's better for those who follow, not to drop today's morality onto the past hunting for grievance that cannot be changed unless you own a DeLoreran with a flux capacitor. IMHO there's a good reason for the statute of limitations, not least that two wrongs don't make a right (though two Wrights may make an airplane.)
