Yes.
However, when Japan attacked, Hitler declared war on the US which made conflict inevitable.
Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq etc. were wars of choice.
Reasonable people disagreed about Korea then and a case can be made either way even now.
However, all the others were disastrous mistakes.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
