That sounds like a great deal. The Democrats win the popular votes like in 2016. The National Popular Vote Compact states give all their electoral votes to the democrat. All the other states' electors that voted democrat also vote for the democrat - not enough Trump gets elected. In 2020 the republicans win the popular vote by big wins in several red states but lose a few purple states and a couple of lean left states in close races. Members of the National Popular Vote Compact's electors are forced to cast their votes for republicans. Trump wins! Life is great! And everyone lives happily ever after!
