7zip is free and performent-can download the 64 bits version in http://www.7-zip.org/ (setup executable file 1.31 Mo)
it can zip or unzip..(see the parameters).
there is 7z.exe (259 ko), managing the command line easily executable from vfp.(.programmatly)
open a prompt dos window ,position on the source folder and type :
7z.exe this gives you all the params of command line.

better way is to create a bat file to zip,,unzip......and execute it with shellexecute as
DECLARE INTEGER ShellExecute IN SHELL32.DLL INTEGER nWinHandle,;
                                            STRING cOperation,;
                                            STRING cFileName,;
                                            STRING cParameters,;
                                            STRING cDirectory,;
                                            INTEGER nShowWindow

result = ShellExecute(0, "open", "fullpath tomyBatfile.bat","","",0)      && 0=hidden
bat file can be built with text/textmerge /endtext and strtofile()....

can make the 7z.exe independant of the source folder (public variable environment...see DOS command : setx
from windows start or dos window type:
setx path "%path%;C:\Program Files (x86)\7-Zip"+return
with this can forget the fullpath of 7z.exe

this is all the params of 7z.exe command line;
