>>Using gmail in outlook as POP3 is an option -
I don't fully understand how gmail can detect adultsite.com in another tab. Surely these are supposed to be isolated so hack code can't snoop your online banking activity in another tab. And any rabbit hole for gmail represents an obvious target for hackers, so surely not.
I agree using POP or IMAP with ssl prevents browser snooping and is my longstanding preference.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
