>>>My doctor wants me to cut the metformin in half for 4 months and see what happens.
>>
>>Like I told you at BWW, Keep up what you're doing and you'll be of metformin for good..
>
>Well, time will tell, I certainly hope you're right.
>
>I needed to be on the dosage I was at because my glucose and A1C were so dangerously high. In the first month and a half between my diet and the metformin, I lost about 15 lbs but the blood sugar did not change one bit. So I needed something to get me out of the danger zone.
> Between that and the history of diabetes in my family, there's obviously something in my genes regarding that process.

>But now that my numbers are down in the normal range, the big question is how much I can dose down. Believe me, I'd love to be off a medication and will do the "due diligence", but I also have to be realistic. I am just glad that I'm turning 53 in a few weeks and I haven't felt this good since my early 30's. So we'll see.
