>>>However I still think that it's outrageous that Woody Johnson, who wouldn't know a Band-Aid from a popsicle, inherited over $10 billion dollars simply because of his last name.

>Perhaps it's also outrageous that Bill Fitzgerald was lucky enough to be born in the USA rather than in Haiti.
Or as a human, rather than as a squirrel.
There's no end to that.
However, what happened to Woody and to Bill, once they were born, was largely determined by the society (anglo-saxons in the northeast US) they happened to co-habit.

The prevailing property laws said that Woody would get billions and that Bill would get zilch.
I'm not complaining about getting zilch - the beautiful things about having been born with nothing are:
- the worst you'll ever do in life is break even
- it's really easy to show a lot of progress.

However, I do resent the fact that those billions that they inherit allow dimwits like Woody, Steve Forbes and George W Bush to get into schools like Princeton and Yale while millions of more qualified people don't have a chance.
Let the dimwits sip martinis and splash around in the Bahamas or wherever they like to play, but stop pretending that you're a serious contributor to the culture and let the real contributors have access to the stepping stones.

>No. that's something to be grateful for, rather than an assumption of superiority stemming (as you note) from no personal prowess whatsoever. It's also true that with great wealth comes great responsibility, which sometimes is forgotten by those who are born into affluence.

>BTW, I see the Donald doesn't intend to spend the new tax take on aircraft carriers, but on $1T infrastructure stimuli. I wonder how many jobs $1T can generate?
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
