>>You seem to be ignoring the MS13 thing and the chain migration thing that got all the boos.

You really believe the MS13 thing translates to *all* immigrants being murderers? Rather than a reminder that tolerating illegal crooks costs families their loved ones in real life, so only people who contribute and live decent lives need hope for the privilege of citizenship? Didn't he make that very point? Didn't he bring along an immigrant welder as an example?

>>And just because Trump says he wants a plan to citizenship for the 1.8 million doesn't mean he'll do it does it?

No, because only Congress can do that. But he held bipartisan immigration talks in his office (unlike other recent presidents who barely spoke with the other side) after which he was betrayed by Durbin... and still he comes back in SOTU advocating a bipartisan approach to finalize an issue Congress has danced around forever. And your only reaction is that he's a liar?!

My prediction is that Trump will use carrot and stick followed by public shaming if necessary, to get a pragmatic deal across the line.

>>Oh so this is going to be yet another one of those moments where people say etc etc...

The biggest message ought to be that Trump hate isn't as prevalent as you'd like and that most of the citizenry is prepared to give credit where due, rather than insisting that every silver lining has at least 100 clouds.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
