I haven't used the Label Designer in, well ages so I'll only be so much help. It's just a font like any other. Open a word processor and it should appear with the other fonts. It should have various font sizes listed in a dropdown, just like any other font. Usually, Bold and Italic have no effect. Barcode fonts use the font size to size the barcode overall. You should be able to see the font in the designer and select the font size. This will affect the size of the bars and hence the width. In the Report Designer, I have been able to crop the height to a reasonable height as the font sizes increase so does the height. Just make sure that the text box is wide enough for the longest code, I do not use stretch and seems it can clip the barcode.

>Thank you for the link and for the helpful suggestions.
>Interesting that you mentions the "size 8 to 72", which brings a question. How can I tell what is the size of the 39 barcode .ttf file I have? Since I know that my barcode .ttf file is too large, it will help me look for a smaller size font.

>>I have been using a font titled: 3of9.ttf that was free and downloaded in the late 90's. I can't locate the source and the ttf does not have any copyright info so I can't tell you where to find it now. However, at "https://www.barcodesinc.com/free-barcode-font/" there seems to be a viable choice. The folks at BarcodesInc are reputable and the download has been there for some time. There is a non-US (refers to A4) ttf out there, but it only has 2 sizes. The ttf I use can print from size 8 to 72 and I hope this one will also. Worth a download and try before having to redesign your application.

>>I have never used FoxBarcode as I significantly pre date it, however if you think you will be using barcoding often it would probably be very useful. Most barcodes need checksums and other things appended to the data to be valid (Remember the * required in 3of9?). Although not terribly complex, no need to reinvent the wheel. This would allow you to use code128 (which does require checksums) if you need a more dense code. Code 3of9 reads cannot detect read errors, checksum barcodes provide this error correction.
>>
>>Note: If you look at other codes, some have different versions. For instance Code128 has types a,b, and c. One is numeric only and the others are alpha so choose the one most appropriate.

>>>Many years ago I downloaded some barcode labels fonts. One of them, PF_C39.ttf, I use for printing barcode labels. (the date on the .ttf file is 2002 which means that this is when I downloaded and used this font).
>>>
>>>Now I need to make this barcode to be printed on a smaller label. But when I place this barcode on the label (in VFP label designer) I don't seem to be able to change the size of the font. It comes out pretty large.
>>>Does it mean that the size of the font is defined in the .ttf file and I cannot change it?
>>>
>>>If the above is confirmed, do you know when I could find smaller font C39 barcode font to use? Hopefully free but if I need to pay, I will.
>>>
>>>TIA
