That was one argument (which was 5-4 decision so it was as close as you can get). - there are other arguments. And that doesn't change the fact that whole line of thinking is dumb. Again I point to when the Amendment was written -- musket balls vs automatic and other rapid fire guns. One has to consider how practical all this is as it's applied today. In theory ever citizen should be allowed to own a nuclear weapon too since the government has them.
