Possible operational definitions of men:

Chomosome "typical" XY
Chromosome n>0 Y
Chromosome X<2
Phenotype having external plumbing (XX genotypes developing external plumbing without surgery due to some special locations on them)
current plumbing state (external vs. internal, no consideration if helped by surgery/medicamentation)
"gender feeling"

As #4 is usually coupled with some other phenotype characteristics usually found more often on XY (facial hair, muscle/fat ratio), a Aristotelian true/false scale is already negated by pure biology going around "typical"/pure XY/XX options available.

As #4 does not produce sperm, the rights issue is somewhat moot, but defining men as those producing viable sperm might upset a considerable XY percentage where sperm production is not abundant/highly movable ;-)
