I clicked on the link and found the Rhine river photo. I was there. Don't believe the part in the article about 1 week. We were there for 3 weeks because we couldn't get a convoy clearance so we finally just left without clearance on Christmas eve. Because of the article I wondered "what ever happened to LTC DuPont". So I did another search - still avoiding doing my income tax. That led me to another link which had "Change of Command" picture. If you look on the far right edge of the photo you will see a tall 1LT - me 50 years ago. Small world. And I still have my income tax return to do.
