>We have an arrangement in the UK called Gift Aid. A charity can claim tax back on donations. Some businesses do that. Set up a charity . Make donations. Charity claims gift aid tax back. Money gets recycled back to the business. Inland revenue find these cases too "complicated" to pursue. Yhey'd rather go after the low hanging fruit of bookkeeping errors.
We had a customer in 1991 who told us how it was when he had financial inspectors visiting. "Look, inspector, you want to search through my books. You may find a lot of things or you may not. I'll tell you where to look and you'll find something in far less time."
I guess the guy took the bait.
