I think VPF is not able to compete with SQL Server for a full client/server database application.

That is not true if you focus on the use of local tables

Ask about some UI needs.

My customers loves

* incremental search in a 200.000 records grid
* change sort order with one dblclick in 0.005 sec
* QuickFill textBox ( to slow with a query )
* Show and recall deleted records in tables
