>>Devart ODBC drivers provide almost full featured field mapping between MSSQL and VFP. (including Varchar(max), read as Memo, and Varcbinary(max), read as Blob).

>PMFJI. So far my customers have been using the ODBC driver that comes with Windows. But, just in case, I run into an issue with the Windows ODBC in the future, I would like to know more about what you mentioned, Devart ODBC. So my newbie question, please, if you were to use Devart ODBC it has to be installed on every PC/desktop using the VFP application? And, can some desktops use the "standard" Windows ODBC and some use the Devart ODBC?

Hi, Dmitry.

Your a) question: if you were to use Devart ODBC it has to be installed on every PC/desktop using the VFP application?

Yes, in the same way that you may prefer or require to install a Microsoft Sql Server ODBC driver that is not in the client's system. Just a note: installers may be configured to do it for you (but, in that case, you would be required to purchase an OEM license from Devart, or install only the Trial version and expect your client to purchase the driver later on).

And your b) question: can some desktops use the "standard" Windows ODBC and some use the Devart ODBC?

Yes. In fact, the same application can use both drivers (as it can use different versions of the Microsoft drivers).
