Also an excellent idea - I could start on that even before getting into SQL server and try it on a few "utility" screens first (that the help desk uses) so that if there are any problems, the problem is not so big (or more accurately, there is less yelling going on as they tend to be more forgiving :-). I know I read a couple articles on cursor adaptors so need to go back and re-read and see if I cannot make sense of it.

That way the decision which SQL backend to use might be left to your successor or a possible buyer of the company while enhancing company worth by having easy upgrade to C/S baked in.
