>I would like to use buttons.vcx (solutions sample) in my application. The problem I see is that some of the class objects in this library have a parent class of another library (solutions.vcx). I moved the buttons.vcx to my application directory and added it to my project with the rest of my classlibs, but it doesn't work since some of the class objects in the buttons.vcx are subclasses from another class. Is there a way to get the buttons.vcx from the solutions sample to work in my project?

John,

I think the FFC has some value, but isn't worthy of use for turning out production work. The problem with them is there isn't much support for them. If you are planning on marketing a product built with them, you're going to have to write quite a bit of code to extend it. However, you can certainly use them to learn with.

My personal recommendation is Visual FoxExpress. I've used their product since FPW and FPD 2.6 and have nothing but good things to say about them. There are other frameworks that work well too, or so I'm told. I recommend spending the money on the third party framework, which you will recover on the first project. VFE even has a web based forum for support so if you're interested they can be found at
