People don't get to make declarations and insist that others have to disprove. It's the person making an assertion who carries the burden of proof.
>>I've had some experience with handling and firing high powered automatic weapons.
>>Based on that experience, I won't go near one if I can avoid it and I don't see any possible reason that anyone would want one around, except to kill other people.
Since automatic weapons have been banned from civilian ownership in the US starting in 1935, how is that relevant?
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
