I need to validate an input as a "good" date or bad date. I can't be sure the input is always going to be in any particular format. I just need to know if it is in a "normal" xx/xx/xxxx format or not. Is there a good/easy way to do this w/o using ON ERROR? This app is actually going to be written in Clipper and I want to avoid a rewrite when we move to VFP, so I'm trying to keep the code generic.

I'm open to any suggestions (even if they aren't generic). If I had to change it later, so be it.
