FWIW, a lot of the older semi-autos in NZ are ex-NATO military weapons with automatic function disabled by a pin modification. For a while it was fashionable for wags to undo the modification and spray bullets about, but everybody I knew soon undid their hack because auto fire is inaccurate and not enough fun to justify the ammo expense!
