>>>And the big reason - drug overdoses/opiods
>>>
>>>And what do most drug overdoses have in common with this shooter who killed 17 innocent people? Lack of a good value system.
>>>
>>
>>So what are the sources of good values systems?
>>Pretty simple - family and institutions, with the emphasis on family.
>>Since the 1960's both have been under systematic attack.
>>People are dancing in the streets today because of Ireland's vote to liberalize abortion.
>>They got to denigrate both the family and an institution with one shot.
>>Institutions and taboos are flawed, but tearing them down without replacing them has a price.

>I hear you, except that I have mixed feelings about the Ireland vote. I am (reluctantly) pro-choice in the first 20 weeks, and only in favor after that under the standard exceptions (life of mother). I dare say a good chunk of American society agrees.

>The problem in Ireland is that the laws are far too harsh.

Well, that problem has been solved. The laws have been repealed.
Now, Irish women can be as happy as US women who do about 3K abortions per day.
About 3K children are born into fatherless families in the US every day.
Anyone who looks at what has happened to "liberated" women here and decides to follow in those footsteps, deserves it.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
