>>You're wrong..

Really?

US Code Title 8, Chapter 12, Subchapter 2, Part 8 § 1325 - Improper Entry by Alien

(a) Improper time or place; avoidance of examination or inspection; misrepresentation and concealment of facts

Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.

Nothing difficult about that. Doesn't matter whether you're claiming to seek asylum or not: crossing the border except at an approved crossing, is a criminal offense.

So if you do it and you're detained, do you deserve more rights than those mostly black citizen single mothers who make up most of the female detained population, who have been separated from their kids? Judging by the clamor, it's good and proper to take the black US kids away from their mothers but a crime against humanity to do it to illegal border crossers.

The truth is that amnesty seekers who go through legal channels, are NOT separated from their families. It's only the illegal crossers. Meaning it's about illegal crossing, not seeking amnesty.

The reality is that those clamoring about family, are actually advocating release into the interior if you turn up illegally with a kid.

I can understand why some people want open borders for the US with anybody who turns up illegally with a child, released into the interior. But why would *you* want that? Why wouldn't you consider that if only these people who cross all the way through Mexico would present at an embassy or crossing to claim amnesty, they would not have broken the law so would not risk separation? Seems to me it's racist and patronizing to treat them as if they're too stupid to know what they're doing, but that's the necessary start point for your rendition.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
