>And I've been bitten by this already. Eight years ago, when we returned to Serbia, I had an issue with my credit union. I told them weeks in advance that I'll move so that they don't suspect stolen card. The person asked where I'd travel and I said "Europe", which she took for EU, I guess, but told me to call just a couple of days before the trip so they'd know to place a warning on the account (of the "don't panic, travel announced" type). When the time came, she asked again where, and I said "Serbia", and then she was in all panic mode, because of some FICA act (or some such F*** word) or whatever, which is against funding terrorists and what not. I checked the site of the agency in charge of that law (nice if you can found one agency per law, lots of new jobs) and the only time Serbia was mentioned was in 2006, when GW2B signed a decree which _removes_ Serbia from the list. Obviously, the credit union didn't get an update for four years... And then I had lots of trouble to get my money out (not really trouble but wasting time in the last 24 hours before the trip). Eventually the card did work here, but each time I used it I'd get a "please don't" email from the credit union. So I just used them only once more, to buy fridge, stove etc, and then later moved the rest of the money to daughter's account.

Right, just like when people write America and mean USA. I especially find the word American being used in the meaning "a person from USA" somewhat arrogant.
