A wise woman once told me some good advice: when somebody seems to be implacably opposed, just remember that everybody has crosses to bear in this life and you never know what the other fellow is having to face or endure. So don't be too quick to ascribe impure motives and don't limit yourself to attempts to batter each other down rather than looking for ways to succeed together.

Even if everybody who disagrees with you is f_ing stupid... they're still Americans in a mostly unfree and jealous world. So why don't they see the wisdom you insist is so obvious? Maybe they believe that people who insult them, have little credibility or relevance in their lives.
