>It definitely can be when your truth, righteousness, morals, and ethics are in conflict with others'. Nobody has the exclusive rights on those. I already told you an EULA has little value outside of the US, so it is unproductive to go on a witch hunt.
>When it comes to morality I'm sure that your and my morality and ethics differ quite substantially. That should not be a problem as long as we respect that.

Therein lies the problem. The fact is truth doesn't have multiple faces. It is unique, independent, single. And in this particular case, this legal issue of the VFP9 EULA being valid to all people who are U.S. citizens or corporations operating under U.S. law, or who are subject to mutual trade agreements between nations on software use, is what's at the heart of my objection to Chen's work.

Chen is operating illegally from VFP9's EULA's allowances. And for people to receive that illegal work is for them to operate illegally. And I would prevent people from doing illegal things if it's in my power. In this case here online, the only thing I can do is advise people and explain the reasons why.

>> Is seeking to find a solid answer to a looming question that could directly negatively impact hundreds of developers and probably thousands of users, really such a harmful thing?

>To me, and I presume others, its like you're seeking for war.

No war. Teaching. Guidance. Reason. All pointing people to be right, do what's honorable, live proper, and the like, all with regards to a true fundamental set of morals and ethics that are not elastic, but are founded upon something real, such as the law, such as those things you would encourage and teach your four year old daughter to do, and not the sideways snickering glance nod agreement you give to somebody where you agree to some underhanded operation you know is wrong, or have reason to think may be wrong.

To stand up for what's right and to do what is right is to do right. It is that which I encourage ... apparently alone it seems.
