>>>You misunderstand me significantly, Tamar. You cast things upon me which are not mine, nor even considerations of mine. My goals are consistently grounded in the root of that which relates to truth, justice, fairness, morality, equity, and other such traits. They are not political, merely of personal opinion, or other like traits. They are founded upon deep study, considered over time, and relate back to precepts dating long before I came into this world. And as I live my life I am constantly making course adjustments toward those precepts as they are revealed to me through much consideration.
>>
>>They relate to your perception of what is truth. My perception of what is truth says that what you did was a jerk move.
>
>Truth involves knowing (in as much as is possible), and not just assuming (when there's the opportunity to know more than you presently do with some effort applied).
>
>>I have questions about whether it's legal for Americans to use Chen's work, but I don't feel any need to draw Microsoft's attention to it because they're not actually being harmed by what he's doing.
>
>I look at that as "what you [Tamar] do is a move leading to possible harm to many," because you do not press in and find the truth, you assume and leave it open to outside forces which may ultimately move against you / your business and do you and others significant harm.
>
>It is better to know up front and move within that knowledge so you can regroup if need be and build your efforts up on solid ground, than assume and build your entire organization with man-years of labor efforts upon houses of sand that could collapse at any moment.

>I do not believe "Shhh! Don't wake the giant!" is a proper method of doing business. People should come together and reason together and determine foundations and then build up in communication with one another.

Except that I know, from experience, that sometimes the "giant" is aware and consciously ignoring something. I don't know whether that's the case here, but as long as no one comes to them about it, Microsoft can pretend not to know and not have to take action that will ultimately give it a black eye.
