Hi,

I need to move a customer SQL Server DB backup to my computer, so that I can restore it into my SQL and troubleshoot an issue. I RDP to the customer server, go to SSMS, Tasks -> Backup. But, when I select the drive where to backup, the only choice I see is the drive N: and I don't see it in the Windows Explorer. So, I can make a backup but I cannot find the file to copy it. How do I select a different drive when making a backup (local drive)?

TIA

UPDATE: I tried executing a script in the SSMS, to back up the DB. I specified the target to be c:\temp\ folder (which exists). The command backup executes successfully but the resulting .bak file is not in the c:\temp\ folder. Does it mean that it backs it to the SQL Server C:\temp folder? If yes, how do I specify to back up to the application server folder?

UPDATE2: I verified that the backup command must create the .BAK file on the SQL Server box. And when I specify a folder on the application box, I get error "Access Denied". So, it must be that they configured SQL Server NOT to allow access local folders.
