Bob,

I've been down this road many times before. I'm going to lose the argument eventually, and that's not necessarily bad down the road. As an outside consultant "versus" an inhouse developer, I'm simply going to lose out. However, if we switch to SQL Server immediately, any problems with the application will then become *my* problem. Potentially unsolveable problems (the app has been designed toward VFP's strengths, including incremental searches). Well, you know what? Maybe the problem's with the consultant. Let's get different ones that's more agreeable to our POV, etc., etc. It's just the way the world works.

I'm trying not to go down that slippery slope just yet.
