>We have just started having our plant employees enter production on a 24 hr basis 7 days a week. We currently don't have backup software capable of backing up open files. Is there a way to close the app (exe)at a specified time daily without the user having to say - close a message window or press a key or whatever, as the workers may not be physically able to be at the workstation at the specified time every day, nor would they hear an audible warning. We will be getting the necessary backup software in the future when it is available. We are also experimenting with Netware login restrictions at the moment. Thanks for any help.

Try Robert Jung's ARJ - I remember one of the reasons I chose it as default archiver for our DOS-based apps was that it never complained that it can't read a file. Well, it was long ago, but you may give it a try.
