>>>QUOTE: "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."
>
>When he points and says "not sending you" is he pointing to Mexicans or people of Hispanic appearance?
>
>If so, how can he be saying that they're rapists? Clearly he's not saying they're rapists. Doesn't even begin to make sense.
>
>I'd suggest that honesty requires inclusion of one sentence before and several after your snip. Listen on, and he complains that the US doesn't even know how many of these people are coming in, extending the complaint to more than just Mexicans. Obviously the US knows what legal immigrants it admits. So who is he talking about? Yes, it's illegal immigrants. Not all immigrants, not all Mexicans. And not only Mexicans. it's true that illegal immigrants have high crime rates, unlike legal Mexican immigrants who have low crime rates. And later he referred to the high rape statistics of young women trying to emmigrate illegally, which turns out to be up to 100% according to some measures. Who is raping them?
>
>I agree it could have been presented better and still can't be clear what he means by Mexico "sending" its people. But it's divisive and contrary to his subsequent explanation to claim he called all Mexicans or even all Mexican immigrants rapists.

Guys.

All this parsing of who said what to whom is fun, but real people are dying because of what we do.

Jim Acosta (whoever he is) has gotten infinitely more attention here and in the "press" than this man - a father of 7- and his family have.
Pause a minute, take a breath, and think about this man.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
