>>So far, in my testing, I found that changing the date to a British or other euro formats is not that difficult. Just some time to go through the millions of lines of code :). GoFish helps a lot.

We relied on SET SYSFORMAT which worked well since 1995 apart from intermittent server reversion to default US locale. But recently we had to rewrite an interface after locale reverted and customer IT personnel couldn't enter 17/10/18 for a date so began experimenting, overwriting latest data with older stale versions. We also modified our date entry to use YYYY-MM-DD that seems acceptable in most locales so far.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
