The NYT quoted this tweet from President Donald Trump today:

>>
I am certain that, at some time in the future, President Xi and I, together with President Putin of Russia, will start talking about a meaningful halt to what has become a major and uncontrollable Arms Race. The U.S. spent 716 Billion Dollars this year. Crazy!
>>

$716 billion.

My son is a structural engineer who owns a firm that specializes in bridges. His firm regularly inspects most of the bridges involved in travel- automotive and rail- between PA, NJ and NJ.

Several key bridges need replacement but there are no funds for them.

He tells me that a bridge like that costs $300 - 600 million to replace.
One B2 bomber costs $2.1 billion.
Worst case that's 3 bridges and in the best case that's 6 bridges.

And... bridges don't kill anyone.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
