>>Jos, you'll have to ask Rick about morality because that is his motivation to bring it up and directly inform them about Chens activities.
>>
>>I've been through this with him before. EULA's are for the most part not legally binding in the EU. VFP9's EULA certainly is not. Its only legal under strict conditions. I do have a lot more knowledge on this matter than most on this forum as I have taken the time to dive into EU legislation on the matter. Rick does even does not seem to understand the difference between Copyright and EULAs.
>>
>>And I do give a damn about what Rick is doing because his actions are spoiling it for everyone who is willing to extent the usage of VFP codebase. Why does Rick feel the urge to do what he has done?
>>
>>You might find my stance disgusting, I beg to differ. I find it disgusting to label someone as a criminal without having any extensive knowledge of the subject and go so far as making MS aware of this.
>>I have no other words for it.

>Walter, if you are so sure you have no problems with this EULA business, that no one is breaking any EULA, that the agreement is non-applicable, that MS have nothing to say about it, etc. why then do you care what Rick says. If you believe that the EULA is of no consequence then why do you believe he is spoiling anything for anyone. If you are right, which you vehemently claim you are, then he ruins nothing for anyone and is just wasting his own time yakking about it. Move on already.

I already answered this: It discourages anyone to make any improvements in extending the lifetime of the VFP codebase. I could well imagine that Chen is intimidated by Ricks FUD (Fear uncertainty and Doubt) and does not want to get through all this rubbish and decides to cease to spend any energy into his work. I can tell you that quite a few people who use his work (I'm not one of them BTW, so there is no personal interest) would be very annoyed to day the least. If you read this thread carefully you can identify a few.

Why does Rick feel the urge to stir this up?

Walter,
