>>That would be the first time since 1994 that M$ would show that it cares for Fox.
There was also the response when a luminary (Ed Leafe?) proposed a demo running VFP on Wine, provoking a definite MS response. Issue was that while you can apparently use the IDE on any OS, contractually the distributed runtimes have to be on Windows. So you'd need to distribute a full copy of VFP for each seat under Linux which put a crimp in it.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
