I can fully echo your desire to learn more about such alternatives I recently became aware of a few unsuspected (cap)abilities in Windev like the HTML control as possible replacement for MSHTML (InternetExplorer.Application/WebBrowser activeX) projects done in vfp.

Personally, I was at several xBase++ sessions in vfp devcon (long years ago) and was/am dismayed at lack of progress perceived over several years visiting their sessions (at least in integrating vfp code base). xBase++ (including their server-side web page generation) seem to offer little above vfp9+FoxIncloud for my use cases.

There were some additional points peeking my personal interest, but not enough to motivate me into trying out:

- Multi-tasking/threading included in the language (possible in vfp via COM threads, but often PITA)
- xBase record interface on SQL databases (back then described as finished for PostgreSQL, roadmapped as interface for all SQL DBs)
- running on Intel under non Windows server system

When Lianja was developed, their already implemented features, targeted vfp-compatibility and speed of implementing new/enhanced capabililtes were great, so I spent quite a bit of time with Lianja, to the point of enhancing the class/screen import tools included in the package. I dropped out when the native app runtime including local database/cursor engine was moved back on the roadmap and vanished after Cordova-based "half-native" clients were targeted. For me a Javascript Recordset iterating over Javascript Array datatype IMO is no adequate replacement for a local/embedded DB functionality ;-)

I still point others to Lianja, as I think the dev behind it goes to great lengths to enhance the product.

But the threaded way of gaining knowledge does not resolve into easy to find table /FAQ, forcing the users of the alternative (like Jos for WinDev, Hank for Lianja) to repeat sometimes instead of just pointing to earlier thread. A Wiki- article might be better, but I' rather know WHO supplied info plus perhaps keeping the stuff here on Level Extreme as Steves Wiki is not always up.

I'd add my points of interest / expiriences / alternatives in other laguages with much more enthusiasm if I was certain to be easily enhanced later in a FAQ / table of capabilities solution.
