Let's forget about future generations for a minute.

How about this one?

-Find a homeless guy. Give him a meal and some money. If he wants it, get him a bottle of good scotch. Yes, really good scotch if that's what he needs. Think about what he needs- not what you need.

-Check your local prisons and ask who will be alone this Christmas.
Visit those people. Think about what Christmas in prison alone must mean to those people.

-Check with local churches, temples, mosques.
Ask for some families who are destitute. Bring them some money, some gifts and a meal.

-If none of that works for you, find an American Legion post and ask them if some vet's family is struggling.
Get some gifts for that vet's family.

Do any of those things and the rest will fall into place - I guarantee it.
