The problem are the investors, not VFP which will do very well in a lot of cases.
When this thread started, I mentioned that I rewrote a large VFP-application with VS/VB.NET(SQL-Server
which took about 4 years time. When it was finished (as finished can be with an app...) it worked well,
the test-customrs were happy anf everything looked fine.
But........when it came to deploying the software, they found out, that it took much more time to
install all the components, they had some trouble with installing sql-server and so on.....
The end of the song is, that I am now reworking the VFP-based app. Fortunately enough I got paid
for all this.
And when it comes to new apps in VFP, I wrote a touch-screen-based POS-app with VFP which is
perfectly suited for this task. So there a still a lot of scenarios wehre VFP will be the best tool.
