Albert,

With apologies to Kevin if I have this wrong, but I did use the .NET Mere Mortals framework years ago in C# and it was good and easier to use than ADO.NET to get data in and out of the backend and into class objects that had intellisense, but that was before MS created the Entity Framework for backend data. I don't know where the Mere Mortals framework is today in terms of improvements and all that. One problem I had with Mere Mortals and maybe because I was a .NET newbie was that tracing through code took you through a lot of framework layers to get down to what you really wanted to see. I think and could be wrong, but I think that Entity Framework and maybe still nHibernate or other ORMs are used a lot these days.
