>>Wow -- wow wow wow!

>>Tom Butler surfs a 100ft tall wave at The Nazaré, Portugal - and made it. I've seen guys surfing 30+ft waves in Hawaii -- can't fathom a 100 ft. And I thought I was cool for nailing a few 15 footers...ha!

>That was really some ride huh ?
>I often get these Nazare vids in my FB as I am into windsurfing. Many of guys there hit 15-20 meter waves - casually.
An amazing ride for sure. I've only tried windsurfing a couple of times - it's somewhat different than surfing. Another thing that has become more popular is paddle boarding - done that a few times and it seems easy enough. That would be good for when I'm too old to do surfing. I took that up when I first got back in the water after a badly broken leg injury because it was less impact on my leg.
>Now over 30 meters is insane.. Imagine that adrenaline rush!
Yeah surfing wave like that a bit nuts dude. Like how fast you going by the time you drop to the bottom of it man? The designs of surfboards these days has come a long ways and advanced a lot -- but still lol lol these guys at places like Nazare are really pushing the limits. I've been knocked around pretty good in a few 12ft -15ft wipeouts - one grubbing when I got nailed by a double up right after my drop.and ended up tombstoning for a minute while my leash yanked my around. 30 foot? 100 foot? uhh I'd end up fish food.
