I realize you're immediate focus is on Winforms/WPF and MS SQL - so that's a big learning curve.

One piece of advice - I waited too long to dive into ASP.NET. I really didn't touch it until early 2006, and I had to get up to speed very quickly on it. In retrospect, I had an opportunity to get my feet wet with it earlier, and didn't.

Again, I realize you have a ton to look at - but for many learning .NET, learning ASP.NET (and all the related technologies) is nearly synonymous.
