>>>The rich got a windfall and the poor got a few crumbs.
>
>The rich did get a windfall but they always will unless you're ready for an all-out revolution. As long as it turns out well, sometimes you need to grit your teeth/hold your nose along the way.

I'm not sure what you consider an "all-out revolution". If you mean a violent revolution then I disagree that would be necessary here in the USA. If you mean a peaceful revolution based upon people getting voted in, then sure that can happen. It's kinda already happening if you take a look at those who have been recently elected to congress. There are plenty examples of things like that happening in American history. Doesn't happen overnight, but it sure does happen.

>For the alternative of taxing the rich more, you only need look at CA that did well with raising taxes as long as its every tax rise was balanced by a reduction in contribution to federal coffers. But once the rich feel the full burden of those full taxes themselves- well, real life and true colors reassert themselves.

It needs to be done at the federal level.

>>>The only people that don't have a problem with this is the few rich people and those dumb enough to be suckered by a few crumbs or stupid enough to buy into the b.s. they've been told by some facebook post or the likes of infowars.
>
>Not sure who that refers to: online I've always been quite careful not to allow any hint of wealth or lack thereof, and I don't believe I've ever knowingly visited Inforwars or slavishly believed anything from Facebook or other far left organs like NYT, WAPO or CNN. Usually I prefer to go back to source and form my own judgment. You might try that too.

I wasn't talking about you. When some idiot says the tax cuts helped them (making minimum wage or close to it) as much as it helped the rich and super-rich then they do not have a damn clue. When people say they don't care then they are clueless. I said facebook and infowars because those who get their news and info from those sources get incorrect information. And every single survey/poll ever taken has proven that FoxNews viewers are the most misinformed and uninformed.

>>>I also will point out that the USA has a long history of huge changes resulting from protests - it's one of the great things about the USA as we're allowed to do so.
>
>Do you know what a gilet jaune is? Effecting change by protest predates and is not specific to the USA and in 2019 I think you'll find that other nations have far more effective protest to force change against political elites increasingly out of touch with the citizenry. Whereas recent US protests have been a lot more confused and more akin to rage protests organized by communist leadership against the great satan than grass roots protest to effect change. Allow their plebs their rampage while the elites get on with their intrigues.

I'm aware of the yellow vest protests. now as far as protests in the USA in 2019 -- they are indeed different than what we saw in the USA in the 1960's....but I'd have to say it doesn't sound like you know much about them in the USA today or those involved in them either. Expected as you are not here nor from here.

>>>"Things" might be going "well" for the moment economically -- but uhhh this is one of those "oh yeah - hold my beer" moments. Wait and watch -- history has shown us exactly what is about to happen next.
>
>Seems pretty hateful to anticipate a bad result for yourself as long as it hits somebody else too. Cutting off your nose to spite your face, we used to call it.

Explaining to you that history is about to repeat itself (again) economically is hardly hateful...and it will hurt all those in the USA (including me) so not like I want it to happen -- it just will.
