Some time ago here I did some back-of-the-envelope calculations, that showed that for freight, ships are ~50x more fuel-efficient than aircraft per tonne-km. That pretty much directly translates to CO2 emissions.

No efforts are made to clean up ship emissions (yet), so they output a lot of sulphur and particulates typical of heavy duty diesels. But there are no emissions controls on turbofans, either.
