>>>You saw the uppercased IF in my post ? I am not too certain Trump direct involvement can be proven if his taped bid for Russian help is not enough/can be argued away with his "truthful hyperbole" style...
>
>They can't make something of that without an attached charge of treason for the person who allowed the emails to fall into Russian hands. Comey may have invented "intent" as a whitewash defense, but there's no such defense when you've been negligent. So either it's a meaningless taunt from Trump, or he was indeed asking for Russian help to expose a negligent crooked politician who almost seized the reins of power. Can't see that one being pushed very hard. ;-)

"intent" is not something invented by the head of the FBI -- it's part of the laws of the country. In some situations just attempting to break the law or conspiring to do so is illegal here. If you are under the impression that if it is shown (proven) that Trump asked for Russian help that it won't be pushed very hard you're sorely mistaken..and there could be no requirement of a treason charge either -- but depending upon the circumstances it could be easy to include.

>>>Which is why I argue for letting population vote on issues like the Swiss do today, in the knowledge that this is sometimes throwing stones into the smooth working of the body politic (cheers to Herberts BuSab and McKie). My guess is that the total effect is beneficial, even if sometimes ludicrous results can be expected (Brexit comments welcome). I hate to see the Brits leaving EU, esp. using that incident as a reason to argue against ballots - more forethought would have been better in the first place and such ballots should have a defined way to be started from % of population, not from top as political manouver.

>Agreed, though I think the Swiss are secure, wealthy and intelligent enough that such things have a head start.

>>>And there definately is some truth to Bills steady reminder that this is truly part of our circenses, keeping attention diverted.

>Absolutely. If you look at Trump's wholesale demolition of swamp stiflement of commerce (barely covered in MSM, you usually need to go back to source) it's obvious why they want to keep him distracted.

Can you give me some examples of Trump's demolition of swap? Not disagreeing with you - but I'd like to see some examples. And do you think those are more significant or numerous than examples of filling the swamp???
