>>>"intent" is not something invented by the head of the FBI -- it's part of the laws of the country. In some situations just attempting to break the law or conspiring to do so is illegal here. If you are under the impression that if it is shown (proven) that Trump asked for Russian help that it won't be pushed very hard you're sorely mistaken..and there could be no requirement of a treason charge either -- but depending upon the circumstances it could be easy to include.

>No Victor, Comey declared *lack* of intent for HRC's behavior- but intent is not a defence of negligence wrt classified information, or even in US law. Otherwise every negligent dentist could shrug off law suits by declaring they never intended for patients to do so badly. Not sure about this other tangent you've gone off on.

Comey was not a prosecutor - he was an investigator. If a prosecutor felt that there was enough to prosecute then they would of.

>Frankly: I think even a lot of Democrats would groan if you seriously used his public call to Russia as evidence of the first public conspiracy anybody ever heard of.

Keep in mind that Trump and his cohorts are so f-ing stupid that they do things right out in the open. Using the brilliant legal mind Rudy Giuliani who said ..how can it be a crime when it happened in the open? (I think that was right around the time he said that the truth was not the truth. uggg) as a defense it not a wise idea.
