I've already run away from several places where I had investment in hours spent and contacts made (my website was on earthlink first, then on geocities, then those got bought by yahoo; had a blog on blogspot but then the google bought it; had 950 photos on panoramio with manually entered geotags, with 750000 views and it got begoogled too). I'd gladly ditch skype, actually would have done so the day M$ bought it - except that it's the whole team which uses it for internal communications. Well if a software team doesn't mind that all its conversations go through M$'s servers, I have to keep it installed.

At least the linux version is missing some of the worst features.
