>An unqualified "Me, too". Le Mans 1967 and I was there. The 330's just could not take the Ford GT 40's on the Mulsanne Straight. The GT 40 was pretty good in it's own right.

Yes the GT-40's back then were unbeatable and Le Mans. The 330's did pretty well at the 24 hours of Daytona though :) Apparently part of the trick at Le Mans with the GT-40's was saving the brakes in certain places on the track, that and of course as you pointed out they where just faster on the Mulsanne Straight. I would of loved to of seen something like that -- but I was only 2 years old lol. I've seen two real (not replicas) GT-40's on the track before - they're monsters - and I've been lucky enough to see a real 330 on a track once too. For some reason I just love the shape and sound of those 330's. If I had the money I'd get one of these http://race-car-replicas.com/rcr-p4 -- but by the time you put one together the costs are way beyond my reach -- so for now I will have to stick with my lowly supercharged Lotus Elise. I like the car a lot and I can drive it everyday because it has a Toyota based engine in it and I can actually afford the upkeep on it lol lol..and hey it looks good and with just over 300 horsepower they way I have it setup in 1800 pounds with mid-engine layout -- yeah it runs pretty good :) and does not break down.
