>>Trump's characterization of the actions of his opponents is hardly a Gibbon-quality source.
>>Warren Buffet says it this way:
>>You don't ask the barber if you need a haircut.

Opponents? A rally was organized presumably without Trump's knowledge, with a permit, to protest plans for a statue and park of no great interest to anybody except locals. The event was crashed/exploited by mostly out-of-state bovver boys who staged a theatrical march with torches the night before, plus another set of bovver boys who turned up to bash the rally-goers.

Trump had nothing to do with it, but was bombarded with questions at a Q&A session about infrastructure.

Despite repeated loaded questions from the reporters, I saw no evidence of excusing political violence or white supremacy as CNN portrayed it as recently as this week. Any reasonable person can take literally 2 minutes to read the transcript and see that this representation is clearly false. Clearly he condemned the violence, condemned neo-Nazis and white supremacists, but committed the cardinal "four legs good, two legs bad" sin of also condemning the masked blackshirts who at that stage were delighting in disrupting conservative events. It's not being pro-Trump to read what happened in real life and express dismay at the Fake News misrepresentation that is causing division and unhappiness in society- though thankfully a smaller and smaller cohort.

>>If there was as much actual violence as both side claim the other supports, we'd all be in bandages.

Come on Bill. Why did Smollett pull his hoax? Because he knew the MSM and celebrities would pile aboard his narrative and rewards would flow. Whereas elderly commuters get bashed in real life for wearing a hat and the MSM looks the other way. Explain that.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
