There is no real need to update it now.
But maybe in some future, newer version of PostgreSql server may implement something which requires new ODBC driver.
So I'm trying to use latest.
Newer odbc versions use Psotgres C library to communicate.
Older versions communicate with server directly. Maybe this change causes this.

Mabey there is some ODBC API call which can used to retrieve error details.
