Well you know my take on how he got elected -- people were stupid enough to vote for him -- and perhaps part of it was out of pure frustration because as you said -- the government isn't working for the people. (Although I still will argue that is a stupid reason (frustration) to vote for anyone, especially someone like Trump)
I think the biggest problem boils down to money. Between Citizens United, Super PACs, lobbyists, and no term limits we're kinda screwed....and I don't see anything getting any better until some laws change and put a stop to it. If we can get more people elected like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that can happen. But as it stands now -- the super rich and corporations are running the show -- and everyone else is left out in the cold. And getting the NRA out of politics needs to happen too for that matter. I have no idea if there is a legal remedy for that one or not.
