In many email programs you can specify who's the sender. For instance West Wind Client Tools

Look here for sample code: https://client-tools.west-wind.com/docs/_s9001zxj2.htm. If you change the cSender* properties, you can fool most people. It takes some more steps to hide all your footsteps of course.
